Job Description

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for growing clients, and our own, social media followings, improving engagement, and making recommendations on the best type of content to create based on data and analytics. They plan, implement, and monitor client’s social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase sales.

The Social Media Specialist will build and manage social media campaigns across various platforms, communicate with clients on campaign performance, long term strategy and deliver performance reports. They will build and execute social media strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification and deliver best-in-class social media strategy across all channels. They will develop new ideas/strategies, and provide seamless execution of tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong storytelling skills, strategy experience, and the ability to see how a story can be told across any and all platforms. They will be an excellent communicator with strong, succinct writing skills, able to easily and authentically adopt our clients voice. You will be expected to work independently and proactively, and support multiple projects at once.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum two years’ of professional social media and digital strategy experience at a top tier brand or marketing agency
  • Solid understanding of social media KPI’s
  • Working and current knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and emerging channels
  • Extensive experience building audiences and acquiring new customers in all social channels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting experienced
  • Experience leveraging video content and messaging
  • Proven track records of implementing native ads

Essential Functions

  • This job operates in an office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment
  • The employee Is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, uses hand to handle, or feel objects, or tools, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds
  • Create and execute social media campaigns across multiple online channels
  • Able to develop actionable insights from data to make recommendations for optimization

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, plan and execute all social media content/campaigns on all active channels to grow followers, increase engagement, revenue, traffic, and new customer acquisition
    • Generate, edit, publish, and share content daily including original text, images, videos and HTML
    • Manage, monitor, and curate organic and paid posts for social media profiles including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Google Plus etc
  • Develop and enforce social media guidelines based on metrics and best practices
    • Use tools such as Google Analytics and social insights to audit, analyze, monitor and produce weekly (bi-weekly) social media recaps
    • Moderate user-generated content and messages appropriately
  • Work with internal and external clients to develop long term strategy to increase followers and engagement
    • Provide insights and ideas to try different, innovative ways of reaching audiences on paid social
  • Communicate with consumer, industry professionals and social media influencers to create a strong network
    • Including interaction with social media users who have questions, complaints, compliments, good or bad reviews
  • Responsible for the creative and timely delivery of social media performance reports
    • Track and analyze analytics reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics, learnings and effectiveness,
  • Develop content calendars that coordinates with client’s product releases, events, and marketing initiatives.
